Richard Foty is the Director of Epidemiology & Data Analytics at Respond Health, where he is helping to develop and leverage sophisticated techniques in AI to draw critical intelligence from the largest health dataset in the USA. His work focuses on translating complex data into actionable insights to enhance patient care and drive advancements in health. Richard is also the CEO of HealthEdge Innovation, a company specializing in translational research consulting and innovations in healthy aging and homecare. Through both roles, he is committed to pioneering advancements in health technology and improving the well-being of diverse populations.A provoking and gripping educator, Richard brings a wealth of experience to his teaching, engaging students with his dynamic approach and profound expertise. With a rich background in both academia and industry, Richard served as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto, where he helped develop the Masters Program in Translational Research and the Certificate Program in Translational Medicine. He also worked as an Epidemiologist at SickKids Hospital. His professional journey includes significant roles in the pharmaceutical industry with GSK and in public health with Public Health Ontario.Richard was classically trained as a musician from a very young age, music remains an integral part of his life. He aims to blend his artistic passion into his scientific pursuits, enriching his research with creativity and depth. His research interests are broad and impactful, encompassing mobile health technologies, caregiver health, the health effects of climate change, building predictive models, and identifying trends within populations.Richard holds a PhD and MSc. in Epidemiology and an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and Health Science.
